Dress up day
We all loved dressing up for dress up day. We helped raise money for the school and had great fun. This was a great way to start the October mid-term.
As part of science week we had a science fair in the gym. Each class had to showcase one experiment and teach the other children how the experiment worked.
Make a Paperclip Float – Science Bob – click on the link to see the experiment we showcased on the day. All you need is a straw and a pair of scissors
In class we learned all about the Egyptians. We made Egyptian masks. See can you spot who is behind each mask!!
Food dudes is a programme designed to encourage children to eat more fruit and vegetables both in school and at home. Each child was given two lunchboxes so that they can bring in fruit and veg from home every day. Fruit and vegetables are so important. They contain lots of vitamins and minerals which our bodies need to stay alive and perform many functions. Fruit and vegetables help us grow up strong and healthy, they give us energy and they make our bones and muscles grow stronger. They also help make your hair, skin and teeth much healthier.
Jersey day (26th February)
Well done to all the children who participated in Jersey day to raise money for Playground equipment
Trip to Croke Park (1st March 2016)
Tyrese and Ryan were lucky enough to be chosen to attend the trip to Croke Park. It was a great day out. Here they are in the players dressing room. Hopefully in the future they will be back there again playing for Dublin
Learning all about capacity in 3rd class 1
In March we began investigating capacity. The children brought in a range of items from home that were measured in litres and mililitres. Ask your child at home to investigate further.
We all had great fun at seachtain na gaeilge. We learned two new Irish songs – Abair leat and the cha cha slide as gaeilge. We all took part in lá glas and an Irish dancing ceilí with other classes. We raised the Irish flag as part of proclamation day also. Have a look at some of our pictures
