At the end of October, we read the book "Room on the Broom". We opened a potion shop and experimented making different potions. The children created monsters using playdough. The children then dressed up for express yourself day and had great fun.

As part of promoting healthy eating the children took part in the Food Dudes programme. The children got to taste a variety of fruit and vegetables. In our role-play area we opened a fruit and vegetable shop. We also read the book "Handa's Surprise" and we preformed a little play based on the story. The children used playdough to create the fruit from the story.

We studied the changed that take place in autumn and learnt about animals who hibernate. We also went on a nature walk. We picked some blackberries and collected some autumn leaves to use in our art project.

In September, we were learning about our family and homes. We had a kitchen in our role-play area and the children took turns playing different members of the family. In the construction area we designed and built our homes.
